I received an email today advertising a slimming patch called the size zero patch (now rebranded as Perfect Zero Patch). Whoever sent the email must have found my blog and assumed I would be interested in buying slimming patches (which is true, but I have already bought some!).
I was still curious and decided to have a look at the size zero patch website and find out what ingredients it contained and find out if it works.
Warning signs
I didn't have to look far before I saw signs of a scam rearing their ugly head. “Lose 24lbs in 12 days” the headline screams, alongside an obviously fake “before” picture of a woman called Ashley.
I want to lose weight fast just like the next person, but not that fast! And I very much doubt you would see a weight loss of 2 pounds a day, which even the most extreme fad diets wouldn't dare to claim.
If it could help you lose that much weight then surely their tag line “From The Hospital To Your Doorstep” should be the opposite way round.
Ingredients
When I review any diet product the first thing I look for is clinically proven ingredients.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether the size zero patch has clinically proven ingredients or not. That's because I have no idea what the ingredients are, they are not available anywhere on the size zero patch site.
Consumer reviews
I searched around for people who had used the size zero patch and found the following comments:
“Used the whole box as directed and did not lost one lb.. if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.”
“I've been using the patch for 5 days now and not lost one single pound!”
“please don't use the patches. I ended up in the emergency room dehydrated, bad urinary tract infection and liver enzymes up”
The verdict
Please, no matter how desperate you are to lose weight (and believe me I have felt the same), don't put your health at risk.
Based on what I have learned about the size zero patch, here are a few things to remember when choosing a slimming patch:
- If you don't know what the ingredients are, don't use it.
- If you read lots of testimonials like those above, don't use it.
- If the diet patch promises unrealistic weight loss, don't use it.
Be sure to choose only safe and effective weight loss products.
I personally recommend the Slim Diet Patch as a safe and effective diet patch.
Has anyone else experienced watery stools when using the patches?
I believe that avoiding refined foods is a first step in order to lose weight. They may taste great, but highly processed foods have very little nutritional value, making you eat more simply to have enough electricity to get through the day. In case you are constantly ingesting these foods, moving over to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will help you to have more vigor while consuming less. Thanks a lot : ) for your blog post.
My grandma and I both have the patches we started 3 days ago. I have Noticed that I am not as hungry and I use the restroom more. I figured it never hurt to try and on the box it came in there are no harmful ingredients. No one will lose weight with out eating healthy and being more active in exercise but still wanted to give them a try lol
hey ive been using this patch and in like one month i lost 12 pounds i feel fine i look fine and i have more energey for my childen. maybe different things work for different people. im not saying go buy it if it makes you sick…..but im also saying dont believe what everyone is saying there are people on here that havent even tried it thry are going off or what people are saying. bottom line is this if you havent tried it dont judge it. but dont be stupid look into anything that you are putting your money to. anyeays im one of the people that can say that ive used it, it works for me, and im going to continue using it. good luck to everyone on there weight lose journey. stay strong.
I received the slim zero patch thing this morning. I thought “this can’t be true” and sure enough by reading these comments I can see it’s not. I don’t mind health issues to lose weight quickly, I already basically starve my self now. Still if I’m gonna harm my health and spend money I’d rather it work. Thanks for the information. Guess I’m just going to stay with my diet pills and eating less than 2000 calories a day.
Hi Brianna, You don’t need a lecture from me about the dangers of starving yourself. Eating under 2000 calories a day is a very sensible approach to long term weight loss. I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss efforts.
I just got the mailing today, so I’m about 3 years late! Thought I’d post an FYI. When the “Size Zero” pills came out many years ago, it contained a medication for horses.
“The size zero pill’s main ingredient is Clenbuterol, a medication made for horses with breathing problems like asthma or pulmonary disease.
It’s sold in liquid or pill form, and overweight people all over the world are using it in an unintended manner for weight loss.
Clenbuterol works by raising the core temperature of the human body, and raises the heart rate. Some people drop 10 to 15 pounds in 2 weeks, but there is a cost to pay. Some say it felt as if their heart was pounding outside their chest, and some even state that they felt as if they were losing their minds, that they couldn’t make simple decisions for themselves any longer.”
Don’t know if it’s the same in the patches. (plus, Alberto Contador, international cyclist was banned for awhile for having Clenbuterol come up in one of his urine tests. Lost his Tour de France yellow jersey.)
Hi Janice, thank you for the information. I posted a clenbuterol review over at the main site here it is a particularly nasty drug so let’s hope the makers of the Size Zero Patch wouldn’t stoop as low as using such a risky ingredient that is banned in many countries.
Thank you for posting about this. The Size Zero Patch ad just came into my box on Friday and I was about to consider buying it, but I used my common sense and went online to check the website and other people’s responses about it and I have thrown the ad away and there is no way I’ll buy it. I’ll stick to diet and daily exercise to help me lose the weight.
I am so glad I found this website. I recieved mail today on the size zero patches. I came to this site then a different site that told the ingredients. Caffeine and Focus Vesiculosis. the Focus Vesiculosis is a type of seaweed that contains high levels of Iodine. I am severely allergic to Iodine, even small amounts would kill me. I could have died.
Thank You for saving my life.
My husband brought me and this envelope this morning to take a look at. I decided to get online for some information. I found your information thank you. It was informative and save me money and time. It kept me from spending money that would have been wasted. I just realized it just a little bit of hard work on my part I can lose weight safely. And being over 50 and a chance of caffeine know that. It might be devastating to my health.
I’m glad I searched and found this site! I also received this package in the mail about zero patch and I was going to try it and you all are right there is nothing about ingredients on this package.. I was about to be scammed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ingredients of this “size zero patch” are obviously intended to “stimulate” a person’s metabolism (artiifically, of course). I received one of their Ad enevelopes in the mail and as soon as I read words like, “medicines,” “time-release,” “patches,” “medically proven,” “no side effects,” etc. I knew this was a scam, just like all the other pills, lotions, potions, dvd’s, videos, exercise programs that we see on infomercials, the internet and that come in the mail. There are approaches to safely shed the pounds. Just eating less does not always work nor last. But what you eat, when you eat, how fast you eat, when you go to bed, etc. all play the most important roles in weight loss and maintaining it. One of the best testimonials was the gentleman earlier who said he stopped eating mini donuts and a candy bar everyday (carbs/simple sugars, esp. high fructose corn syrup are a menace to your health) because he didn’t like them anymore. This site/blog is great wish there were more like it because I believe that our great country (USA) needs to be better educated on how to be and stay healthy which is the best remedy for driving down the outrageous cost of “sick care.” (notice I did not write “health care”). I welcome questions, comments and conversation by email and on facebook. Sincerely, Dr. Michael Kowalski
I tried the size zero patch two years ago. I purchased three month supply. I ate better and worked out some and only lose three pounds. after two months I called my credit card company and they got me a refund of my money. I do not recommend this product. It did not make me sick nor did it due what it said it would. I was checking today to see if other feel the way I do. Those it work for I am happy for you, it just did not work for me, I only wanted to lose 15 pounds.
I was skeptical but I was about to order the Size Zero Patch and then I read your post. The idea of two pounds a day is too much – I figured that part was sales hype. But the more I read your post, the mores skeptical I became so I ordered the one your recommended – sounds much more reasonable – 8 pounds in a month is more like 2 pounds a week and that not only sounds more plausible but sounds much healthier. I will keep you posted on how it works.
i have been taking the lipozene pills and have not seen any results…i too got the size zero patch pamplet in the mail the other day and i was gonna bring it to work to order it online, but kept on forgetting it. I called home tonight to get the website cuz i was ready to order tonight. i am so glad i saw this because now i wont order it. thank you so much
I received the Size Zero Patch advertisement in the mail yesterday. It sounded too good to be true. However, being the sceptic I am I prayed and asked God if it were true. The answer to my prayer lead me to your website. Thank you so much for your advise. May God Bless You.
I almost fell for the phoney Zero patch too. Just glad I found this web page and all the poor people who responded to the false advertising. Anything that seems to be too good to be true usually turns out this way.
I have tried the zero patch and only lost 2lbs
in 4 weeks. Do not buy this crap because its all a scam and try to get a hold of customer
service is another problem,One person says they close @ 9pm eastern time and another
person says they close @ 3pm eastern time.
Thanks for the info I recieved the packet in the mail about the size zero patch (don’t know how they got my address)lol! anyway I was excited and surprised that there was something so amazing as a patch that could make you lose 24 pounds in 12 days. I almost tried it until my husband said it has to be a scam, so I looked it up and here you are warning us, thanks so much you are a life saver.
This definately sounds like a scam. I did not try this and don’t intend to. I got suckered on a similar diet in the past which had zero results and which could have resulted in adverse health problems. This definately sounds too good to be true, so follow that rule and do no buy this diet scam.
8 months from now I should have reached my target weight loss goal!!!-take me on the journey!
Cool that your blog came up when I searched for “Size Zero Patch”. Keep up the good work so no one will fall for this big scam again! Just the name makes me suspicious;
“Size Zero Patch” Hehehehe..
I kind of figured that if they really had a 2 pound per day weight loss, that the company would have included one free patch with the letter I got in the mail. Had they done that and I had actually lost 2 pounds in the first day, I would have bought 48 of them like they suggested.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is. The fine print that comes with the size zero patch advertisement says “no side effects have been reported”. Really? What side effects did they not report?
okay so I’ve been using the patch and it does work.. of course not 2 pounds a day that’s ridiculous but i have been losing weight.
I called for ingredients 1st person said caffeine, 2nd said NO caffeine?????!!!!
The ingredients are laurel oil, ginger oil, geranium and lavender. That’s what the packet says anyway. This is my second day of using the patch, will weigh myself tomorrow
I recieved the size zero advert today, decided 2 check it out. Because recently i tried Lipozene and hadn;t lost any weight with that. Was tired of throwing my money in the trash.I found this sight and wanted to thank everyone for their in-put.Not going to throw my money away today..
Thanks for this information. I received this advertisment today and began researching on the internet. I thought it was to good to be true.
The only thing that I have found that works is the 6wks body makeover. You are eating the right foods. I lost 8 lbs in 4 days eating lean meats, veggies and low carbs.
I received a Size Zero Patch advert in the mail yesterday, and was rather alarmed by their ‘guarantees.’ Even if it did cause you to lose 24lbs. in 12 days, doing so would be extremely unhealthy, as would ‘weighing less than I did when I was twelve’ as the advert described. It’s shocking and dismaying that this sort of thing is out there, and I’m almost afraid of what will happen if this thing starts targeting gullible teenage girls.
The Slim Weight Patch sounds much more respectable, and I’ll be sure to look at it further.
all these fad weight loss, patches pills, and drinks are all so bad for you
I have battled with being over weight till last year. we never get over weight over night so why do we all think we can get super thin over night slimming world is the best and safe way to loose weight without putting your health at risk
thanks i just got my junk mail of size zero patch it definatly going in the bin (recycling) ive sent for a lot of creams etc and nothing has worked on my weight ime glad i checked the web now
wow, nice discovery man!
did you tried any slim patches yet ?
can you personally show proof of testing the diet patches that you recommend , huh ?
Hi John, Of course I have pictures of my weight loss using Slim Weight Patch on this blog.
However, I think the real reason you are posting is because of the similarity between your website address and “The size zero patch”.
A note to readers of this blog, “The size zero patch” reffered to in this blog and “Sizezeropatch.com” are two different companies. Hope that should clear up any confusion.
We returned our zero patches after there was no weight loss, along with a letter stated that, in fact, a pound was gained during the entire program! We demanded our money be returned and sent the letter regular US Mail. MISTAKE! Today, after waiting several weeks, we called them and they stated that they did not receive our letter or patch envelopes! We will resend the letter via registered mail, and try again. These people are crooks and should be shut down now!
hey man, nice blog…really like it and added it to bookmarks. keep up with good work
Thanks to your post – I received the mail the other day and of course was curious if there would be any results – I certainly wasn’t expecting 2 lbs a day but desperate enough to consider what might come from it…of course now it’s in the trash! Thanks again.
Thanks for the info..It really did look good for a minute..Too good to be true…I tore it up and threw it in the garbage where it belongs…Again, thanks…
I have used the Size Zero Slim Patch for 3 weeks with no weight change. FYI, the ingredients shown on the package are: Acrylates/VA Copolymer (Adhesive), Fucus Vesiculosus Extract (Fucus), Paulinia Cupana Fruit Extract (Guarana).
Ho my god what next, recived a letter this morning about the size zero patch almost sent away for it untill i rang a girl friend and she said check it ouut first !!!!!!!!!!!! so glad i did …I know every body wants to loose weight now and then but guess what as men and women in there 30s and 40s WE NEED TO EMBACE THOSE FAT BITS WE”VE ERNT THEM XXX
I found a website that said the product contained seaweed and caffine. Don’t know if this is true or not. Thanks for the information you provided. Definately will not order thanks to you.
I received this ridiculous advertisement in the mail. I did read the entire contents of the envelope, and the only reference to ingredients in the product is as follows:
“The size zero patch can be in your possesion within a few days. Immediately these powerful all natural patches with a secret recipe (we do not want unauthorized Asian copies hitting the shops-but will include a full list of the totally nautral and safe ingredients along with every order) which act on your body by time release bio psytology.”
Hmmmm…interesting. A “secret recipe ” guaranteed to take 24 pounds off of anyone in 12 days?? It has been medically researched and documented for years that 2 pounds of fat per week is all your body can naturally lose…all other lost weight after that on the average person is muscle and water. 24 pounds in 12 days no matter who you are will be a shock on the system and for the body. As much as I hate to say it, a good healhy diet, daily excercise, and a positive attitude together are the only things that truly work. The bottom line: Of course there is a miracle cure for obesity!! Everyone get a big glass of water and swallow the “time” released pill called discipline…and get ready to sweat.
Ugh…if we just weren’t all so impatient…the “NOW” generation if you will…scams like this wouldn’t be called scams they would be referred to as obsolete.
My best tip for losing weight is Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and help to keep your calorie count low.
I have already lost 10 pounds and I seem to be doing good so far and I would recommend to continue doing everything that I have done since it seems to be working remember to try and stay away from the junk food and frozen foods remember its not the quantity its the quality of the food
I tried the Size Zero Patches for a couple weeks and didn’t loose any weight. I emailed them about how to get the refund and they gave me the mailing address to send the left over patches to. Three months after they received it, I got a check.
The only way so far that I have lost weight and kept it off was for a long time I was eating 6 mini-doughnuts and usually at least one candy bar a day, every day. I got tired of them so I stopped eating them and did not replace what I was eating with something else. Wasn’t a diet or anything, just didn’t like them any more. Lost 30 pounds.
Just need to find something else I don’t want to eat anymore and see if I can get another 30 pounds. 🙂
I really like your post. Always been very informational. I hope you’ll keep up the good work and maintain the standard. Best of luck.
Hi Karen,
Just wanted to say thanks, I found your site when I was looking to buy the size zero patch and it has definitely made me think twice about buying it.
It’s upsetting that companies think they can get away with ripping us off!
Good luck with your own weight loss goals.
Hi Lorie,
Unfortunately I looked all over their website and the ingredients aren’t mentioned anywhere.
You could try emailing:
info@thesizezeropatch.com
and see if they are open about the patches ingredients.
I hope you feel better soon.
How do we find the ingredients to this product? I have been sick and would like to know if there is something in this product causing me problems.
I ordered the size zero patch and after 6 days did not lose one pound. I have since contacted the company for a refund (their guarantee of promise) and unfortunately am still waiting for the refund of my money. I now know that the whole promise is just a scam and wish to warn others about it.
thank u so much.i was about to buy this.more people should read these things.it just goes to show u that people ownley care about personl gain not thiking about peoples health.
